View Itinerary
This expedition leaves on a mission to see the "Old Man of the Mountain" in the beautiful White Mountain National Forest of New Hampshire. After spending the first night at Franconia Notch State Park, we spend the day hiking and climbing in the 794,000 acre National Forest (alright, maybe not all of the forest!). On the third morning we pack up camp and head northeast to visit one of New Hampshire's boating gems... Lake Umbagog State Park and Wildlife Refuge. After a day of canoeing, we will camp on the lake and enjoy dinner while we look for Bald Eagles and Ospreys who are doing the same. As sunrise hits on day 4, we are off to navigate through the whitewater sections of the Androscoggin River. Day 5, after wringing out our clothes, we are back to conquer the whitewater of the Magalloway River. To end this trip on a high note, literally, we make our way down south to the base of Mt. Washington and Tuckermans Ravine. Snowpack will depict whether we snowshoe up the ravine or are able to hike. Either way, this capstone experience will be one to remember.
