For Participants

What to Expect

Program preparation is key in getting mentally and emotionally ready for any new opportunity.

The development of self is obtained throughout this hands-on experience where you will learn by doing. Every student is empowered with the ability to make personal and group decisions. We encourage you to give and receive feedback and hold yourself accountable for the consequences of your choices.

No matter what Trailmark program you decide on, everyday is a new adventure. Learn new skills, make lifelong friends, take part in a community service project and take time to absorb your natural surroundings. Make Trailmark a memory in the story of your life.

What kinds of kids join Trailmark?

Kids like you! They're active, enthusiastic, love to be outside, and willing to step out of their "comfort zone," to try new things and take new risks. Trailmarkers are ready to pitch in and be part of a group that supports one another and seeks reward together.

Do I need experience in outdoor activities?

No! Part of the adventure is learning along the way. Qualified leaders and experts in all aspects of outdoor activities will lead you through everything you need to know. A willingness to learn and the energy to try new challenges is a must.

If I am experienced, will I be challenged?

Absolutely. Trips are fully adaptable to different ability levels, plus you will be in a new
wilderness setting, with new people, on a new adventure!
